The Dodge A100 was a model lineup of compact vans and trucks made in 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970. They were made by Chrysler under the Dodge brand in the United States and under the Fargo label in Canada. At the time the A100 competed with the Ford Econoline and Chevy Van along with the Volkswagon Bus (VW Type 2).

Dodge A100 History

The Dodge A100 line of trucks and vans featured a forward control or "cab over" design with a short wheelbase. A longer wheelbase version, the Dodge A108, however was made available in 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970. This longer wheelbase version is a popular camper conversion van and is sought after by RV enthusiasts on classified such as Craigslist and eBay.

The Dodge A100 was introduced with two different Six (6) cylinder engines they 170 cubic in 2.8 liter version which produced 101 horsepower and a 225 cu in, 3.7 L that made 145 horsepower; that later of which remained in production through the life of the A100. In the last year of production Dodge offered a mid-range 198 cubic inch 3.2 Liter I6 which produced 125 horsepower. A year after the A100 was brought to the market a 273 cu in 4.5L V8 was offered as an option and from 1967-1970 a big block 318 5.2L was made available.

A Hemi powered A100 called the Little Red Wagon was drove by Bill "Maverick" Golden and was popular on the drag strip from 1960 through the early 2000s. The A100 also appeared in a That 70's Show episode.
